Peer Mediation Training for Elementary Students
In November, Sandusky Elementary Students Helping Students group participated in a peer mediation workshop. Elementary counselors Cheryl Bush, Tom Edwards, and Janice Trent accompanied the students to the day long workshop. The students involved were 4th, 5th, and 6th graders. These students were selected by their classroom teachers to represent their school based on their display of good character. The elementary students were trained in communication, social, listening and conflict resolution skills. Sandusky High School's peer mediation team under the direction of John Cornwell and Mary Ellen Hart lead the day's acivities.
